I was thinking about Bear earlier and remembered the chaos and injuries to myself that she caused as an enthusiastic pup.

We got her at 6 months and she'd had no training on the lead and she was quite big for a goldie, plus I was a fairly clueless teenager - she was a steep learning curve! In the first week she spotted a squirrel and took off, I wasn't paying attention and tripped over going head first into a tree :o

She was also really bad for jumping up the first couple of weeks. One day she stopped dead and shot backwards between my knees. I bent down to pull her back through and she jumped up, put her paws on my bum and sent me sprawling in front of the cute guy from school and his very popular girlfriend :o

A few weeks later we went on holiday. Day one she dragged me down a grass bank that was slippery with dew - I skiied down it and was literally clothes lined by a washing line between two caravans. Bear added insult to injury by trying to give me the kiss of life :D

Day three it was squirrels again (the little sods were lying in wait, Im sure of it  ) and we went grass skiing again, this time I avoided the washing line but came to grief when she out foxed me and went the other way round a tree to the way I thought she was going :o

A few months later she was excited and started running in circles in my friends driveway while we were chatting. As we were discussing something highly important like Take That or something :p she ran into the back of my legs and took me out totally. Had a bruised bum for days! :D

The summer after she went blind in one eye I was on my hands and knees in the garden. My dad called her for supper and she came tanking from the top of the garden, didn't see me properly and our heads collided. She was fine, I had concussion!

Luckily Yellow Dog has avoided injuring me so far, he just likes to try and shake all over me when hes soaking wet  though he does enjoy embarrassing me whenever possible ;)

So who else has had amusing canine related injuries? :D

Don't think she found it amusing at the time, but 2 large GSD pups (around 6 months old) ran into the back of my mums legs whilst playing and she did the classic flying in the air over the top of them. Unfortunately she broke her leg in 2 places and had to spend about a week in hospital in traction .:(

I had permanently bruised shins over Buffy's last few weeks as her lack of sight meant she was constantly running in to me. She could avoid static things because she knew where they were but I very inconsiderately kept moving.:p

I have also had many banged chins/lips from dogs head butting me by accident, god that hurts!

Ahahaha, where do I start.

Apart from nips, bites, grazes and scratches, headbutting....

Big dog knocked me backwards onto a boulder jumping out of the car and I also caught the end of my little finger in the link of his chain as he twisted his head once...his sister pulled my arm behind my back and dumped me in a ditch.

Little dog has left me with a Hellraiser/Pinhead style scratch on my face and my hand is covered in nicks from his teeth after I haven't been fast enough.
I impaled myself on the buckle of a big old wide leather collar at the weekend trying to get it on the wriggler.....

Not really an injury, but Millie loves to pick up and carry sticks, if out walking on a narrow path she regularly runs past with said stick thwacking me on the back of my legs - even worse when wearing shorts and she uses a particularly rough stick!

My Dobie managed to dislocate my toe bouncing around like a loon ..... she then managed to put it back later that day when she bounced on it again.

She also ran at full tilt into the side of my head when I was bending down weeding - nearly broke my jaw, lots of swelling, lost my hearing in that ear for a few days, major headache etc.

She has also subluxed my kneecap slamming in to the side of me.

She has no spacial awareness, self presservation, or care for my safety!

I dont wont to tempt fate but none of mine have ever done anything to me. My daughter has a lovely purple bruise on her chin when Diesel accidently lifted his head when she was cuddling him on the sofa.:(

My friend's doberman knocked her daughter out! He was a big lump of a dog and got over excited one day and walloped her with his head. Bless him, he was ever so upset afterwards and when she was back from hospital he kept giving her little licks and nuzzling her :)

Pulled over by a Springer, concussion, kept in hospital overnight for observation.

My mother was knocked downstairs by same dog and went through a glass porch door. Broke collar bone, stitches to elbow, breast and neck. She was very, very lucky not to have been killed.

I was scratched in my eye by a Rottie, who was sat on my lap at the time. It started off a reaction known as Cat Scratch Fever and I had to have a biopsy of the resulting lump to confirm the cause.

An ex boyfriend was knocked over at the park by our Boxer who wasn't looking where she was going as playing with another dog. Broken femur for his troubles :(.

As for the dogs, loved them all and they each had a long and happy life with us :).

Yep, especially the day she found this stick:

The bugger kept dropping it for us to to throw. - I don't think so!!

The old dog used to give my niece (only one of them, didn't bother with the other 2) a nudge as hewent past so she toppled over.

Fidleysp - ouch that really would hurt, thankfully Millie is really tiny by comparison, but still manages fairly big sticks!

Not me, but my friend, one morning she was stood at the top of the stars, as she went to step, Sherman (the shiba) stood on her slipper and sent her from top to bottom :(

Elliot stole my glove and left it on the stairs, as i bent to pick it up bashed my head on the banister......sure he left it on that step on purpose :S

Did someone say 'stick'?!

And how can I forget the bump on my nose? Caused by a paw splat on my face when I was about eight - still there, looks like a nose stud, on the side of my nostril :p

One of the goldies my mum bred was an absolute sucker for people - any age, any gender, any race, height, weight, anyone!
One day we were on the field goldie and GSD happily hooning around when a lady came into view with a lead shouting her (obviously lost) dog. Misty spotted her - and the rest went in slow motion. The playing stopped...the ears went up...the tail started wagging...and she flew over to this woman and leapt at her from about 5ft away, landed two paws on her shoulder, knocked her clean to the floor and started to kiss her all over her face.
Mortified much...:o

Our GSD when being people socialised in the town centre (we used to sit there with her for hours on end to see everything) had a guy come up to her - stupidly he put his arms out and came down to her - she jumped up to him at the same time and bust his nose! She's also done that to my Dad, her vet and to a judge at her first ever show....:p oops.

Aside from that, there's endless scratches, paw slaps, tail whips, tongue in mouth incidents (the goldie is a bugger for that, she's so quick!)

My GSD loves the water but will not swim.
I was moving some water lilies into deeper water. The dog waded in with me and was by my side when I lifted the (heavy) basket of water lilies. I waded put into about 3'6" of water and was having trouble getting the basket settled straight so taking a deep breath I bent over to use both hands. This was to much for the stupid dog and she leapt the few feet landed on my back and sent me flat into the water.

As she was out of her depth she panicked and every time I regained my feet she tried to clamber on me and sent me back into the water.

Two things - first it was March and the water was bloody cold and then the darn lilies died anyway!
