Hi, looking a dog rug that is safe to keep on all night, as would only be wearing at night inside. Primarily because our kitchen is very open plan and not much heat in the winters, unfortunately no aga to keep her warm!

She's a lab who's getting older so just needs that bit extra on the really cold nights - has been hitting -1 outside at home. She's fine during day as kennel has quilt for bed so warm and can roam around outside all day.

I had looked at the thermatex dog rug as figured that would keep her warm, but not sure if would be safe all night.

Thoughts and ideas please!

Dont know if its any good for you, but i got a whitney fleece (matched the horses fleece) that our elderly springer wore every night until he passed, he even wore it to leave us and join rainbow bridge

I thoroughly recommend these, my 2 Dobes are single coated and they feel the cold at night when the heating goes off, so this is their pyjamas. They fit beautifully and are an excellent quality, I keep the front part done up and just pop over their heads, they also do amazing colours and patterns, one of mine is a red star and the other a navy star.

i have mark todd and weatherbeeta fleeces.
still wash up like new after several years.
i find these are much cheaper on tack sites than doggy shops.

I'd absolutely recommend Equafleece. I have one for each dog and they have been the best thing I have ever bought them. Tough, hard wearing, warm and worth every penny. Love how well they wash and how quickly they dry too.

I have a thin skinned, fine coated boxer x staffy and he wears his loads when it's cold. Great company to deal with too.

If you are going to go for Equafleece, check out Hotterdog. As far as i'm aware, they are manufactured by the same supplier, to the same spec, but are about a tenner cheaper. They come in more basic sizes & colours but i find they are perfect for bitches. For for dogs Equafleeces slim fit tends to be better as the close fit stops little boy puddles happening in the belly bit!
