Heya,

I'm about to start up a dog walking and horse sitting business and I spent all day Saturday driving around Aberdeen putting up posters in:

Miller Plant
Pets at Home
Hayfield
Kelly of Cults
Ardene House Vet Hospital
Safeways in Banchory
Swans Vets on Holburn Street
The pet shop at Airyhall
Country Ways

and a couple other places.

But can anyone else think of other good places to do this? I basically just thought up everywhere that had a notice board that I could think of but was wondering if there's dog obedience/puppy classes anywhere or other pet related places that would be a good idea? Or even any dog shows coming up and I could hand out flyers?

Come on guys, rack your brains and help me out, lol!

Have you thought of creating a website?

I think if you had a nice website (only needs to be a page or two) it would look professional and would also help people find you. Then you could contact animal websites and ask for links to you page - so that google picks it up?

You could consider flyers then - with minimal information on them - but with the web address? And maybe you could give them out at a local park? Or drop leaflets through people's doors?

Not sure what area you are in - but where I live, local parks have noticeboards - so you could also think about putting notices up in those?

Am sure you will be busy tho

As sad as it is, I made the website before I even finished my business plan lol! I've had a lot of people viewing it in the past few days since putting up the posters (they all had business cards attached at the bottom with the web address and email address on them) so it looks like something is working! Although no emails or phone calls...yet!

I think the Google link idea is great though - that is one thing I wasn't sure how to do, as clued up as I am with computers, websites are one thing I've not had a huge amount of experience in creating, so any advice in getting me Googled would be much appreciated!

I'm doing no work right now, just sitting constantly checking my emails with my fingers crossed lol!
