I need some help and advice..
Lately i've changed my dog walking route due to the losing light in the evenings and have taken to walking my 6month old puppy round a field nearer my house.
The past 3 days we always meet this other lady who has 3 dogs (1 on lead, 2 off lead). One of the ones off lead always starts barking at my puppy and runs at her snarling which results in my puppy shooting off crying. My puppy is still on the lead so doesnt get far.
What bothers me is this women can't call her dog off and has to grab its collar and pull it back and never apologies for her dog or even acknowledges I'm standing there.
I suggested yesterday she puts her dog on the lead if she can't recall it which turned into a bit of an arguement and ended in me threatening to remove her dog with my boot if it does it again. My last dog was attacked as a pup and it really knocked her, my puppy is the friendliest dog going and I would hate this to change. Yesterday as soon as my puppy saw this dog she hesitated behind me.
What would you do? The stubborn side of me wants to keep walking the field as I want to as this is the only route I can take through fields but the sensible side doesn't want my puppy to get hurt. Some people I have spoken to told me to call the dog warden, has anyone got any experience?
