Cor you're a bunch of misery guts ???
We get repeated comments and questions too but I love talking about my dogs so don't mind at all. If I'm in a hurry or feeling antisocial I just don't engage with people, maybe I put on a good resting bitch face ?

Yep I am ??? I know you are right and people are generally nice with the best intentions lol - and I’m proud of the number of people who have adopted a greyhound (or got another one!) after talking to me on a walk. So maybe my posts are worse than the reality ??

Teddy, my poodle, is 14 inches high. Quite a few people have asked how old he is. When I’ve replied say 4/5 (not months old) they’ve asked ‘is he going to grow any bigger? And my favourite, is he a cockerpoo? No, he’s a poopoo. He’s an apricot poodle, very pale colour. I walked him up on the South Downs next to a field of sheep, not long after the lambs had been taken away from their mums. A ewe came over to the fence and she stood staring and baaing at him for 15 minutes. Poor thing, she must have hoped he was her baby! I didn’t know whether to laugh or cry, poor sheep ?

Someone was very insistent that my two original dogs were smooth collies. It makes me laugh when people insist they’re a different breed even after you’ve told them. Twice!

Then the vet was convinced that Bear was a cocker as she heaved 25kg of dog onto the exam table. ?

I think my favourite was during a walk up Thorpe Cloud (sheep, fairly steep), so whippet was on a lead in a harness.
"Is he a search and rescue dog?"
"Not unless there's a sofa in distress up this hill"

PMSL! ?

Ah, in fairness there are many lovely people that say nice things about him. I mean, the ones that puzzle me are regarding how well behaved he is - must have brought a different dog out with me :p
Last time this happened, the nice lady with the labradoodle had literally finished 'Oh, but he's so well trained' followed a nanosecond later by ' Oh, he's chasing a rabbit'
Me 'Yeah. He might be a while'

That reminds me of my last training session with Millie lurcher - my trainer was telling me about some clients who had brought their dogs for some training and were devastated that the dogs killed a rabbit while they were there. “But they never kill rabbits, they just chase them” ???
