Has anyone any ideas to stop this?

Firstly, she is 100% house trained at home, no matter where she is. She is also trained to wee on command and is taken out regularly (2-3 hourly) No UTI, it is definatley behavioural.

The problem is when she is at work and is crated she seems to wee every time I put her in the crate when someone is around (if she can hear a voice for example) and it's driving me mad. She will also do it if I put her away to do something or leave for a minute. She can be alone for literally 30 seconds and when I come back her bed is wet. She can't be trusted to be left out alone unvrated at work as it's unsafe and does not like strangers so needs to be put away if people come in.
Ive tried telling her off but it makes no difference, it's like some sort of protest!
She is nervous of people sometimes but never does this out of the crate. Her crate is in a quiet place covered by blankets and people never approach her...she is in the corner of the room and people never get close.

She could stay at home but it's a shame for her to be on her own all day 40mins away for the sake of an hour or two in a crate with me in the next room.

Has anyone any ideas?

Telling her off will not help help, in a crate she is cornered she cannot get away from what she fears (people) even if they do not approach her she knows she is cornered if they do. The pee will be from fear or submission.
how big is the crate?
can you section off a bit around where you sit so essentially you sit in a large crate with her ad you leave that space rather than putting her in a different space-not sure how practical that would be or if she would still be safe and stay in that area when you are gone, try adaptil plug ins, stuffed kongs, having a bigger crate with only part of it covered, move the crate to a different area, is she happy to go in the crate?
do you crate her at home at all and if you do do you have the same problem there?

We don't crate her at home as she does not need to be. The crate is open so she can come and go as she pleases when we are alone, she will quite often take herself in for a sleep during the day so it isn't the crate itself, it's more as soon as people can be heard or if I shut the door when people come.

The crate is big enough for her to sleep comfortably but not big enough for her to walk around.

I can't really always have her with me as she can't be trusted around strangers and I can't take the risk of her nipping someone or growling at people as it looks bad hence I have to put her away on her own if I know people are coming and this is when she goes in the crate. Sometimes I put her in there if I am doing work and she still wees even if there are no people just because the door is closed? If I left the door open she proberbly wouldn't do it but then she would come out and disturb me all the time which isn't ideal. Sometimes I do need her to be secure away from people/things that could do her harm.

I will try giving her a kong when I shut the door and see if that makes a difference!
