Dog with a cut, have I done the right thing?

About 2 weeks ago Roo my greyhound fell out of the car and grazed her 'ankle'. She's been licking it ever since so it hasn't dried and healed. I put a plaster over it last night, and have just changed that for some antibacterial wound cream, a wound dressing, gamgee and a vet wrap, was this the right thing to do, or am I too busy pretending my dog is a horse? It's only a superficial graze.

Buster collar, rather than bandaging would be better. Stops the tongue getting there, but allows the air to get at it to help the healing... Would probably only need a day or two when unattended, if you can tell her off for licking when she does!
