We've had a few cases of diabetes insipidus both in older boxers. They did well on the desmopressin drops. One of the owners found that putting the drops into 1 eye as apposed to splitting between 2 actually worked!! But splitting doses didnt. What meds are you using? x

My SIL has a cocker spaniel with DI, he was terrible until they got the dosage right, but now does very well with restricted/monitored water and his tablets. He is considerably younger though, about 4, don't know if that might make a difference? I hope you find the balance soon xxx

Our 11 yo JRT has just been diagnosed with it. The vet has given him tablets that seem to be helping. I'm interested in Dollyanna talking about restricted water as we were told under no circumstance to do this as he would become dehydrated. We're very much in the early days of this so interested in any tips/advice too.

We were advised to remove water on a night as he's on meds, so at 9pm we lift the water..and it helps we' ve done this the last year or so and he's never desperate for a drink on a morning x
