I am sure someone on here will be able to point me in the right direction.

Bruce is a generally 'itchy' dog but it is manageble - however over the last few days when he has been up to the yard with me he has come back with ridiculously itchy feet. This manifests itself by constant licking interspersed with 'digging' at the carpet. I have washed him off, but am at a loss what else to do ( other than not take him to the yard in future) Up until recently he has been fine coming up to the yard which he has done on a near daily basis for 18 months, and this has only started since the snow melted - any suggestions as to what could be causing it ? FYI the driveway to the yard was gritted ( now washed away) and it lies ath the bottom of a chalk hill with arable fields above.

Also - is there anything I can give him to help relieve the symptoms? I am such a wuss when it comes to my animals in distress that I get really upset too

Many thanks

Thanks for the reply - thats what I thought initially, but it is only when he's been to the yard, and there has been salt/ grit in alot of other places we walk him and he has no problems elsewhere

A different type or brand of salt/grit?

Could someone have put a chemical down to sluice the yard, Jeyes fluid or something?

Try putting aloe vera gel on (the clear kind, not scented or coloured) and see if that helps x

Thanks for your help - He does have a habit of licking off any cream I put on him ( or me come to think of it... he has a real taste for my face cream....but thats a different story!) I assume the germoline wouldn't do him any good, or would it not have any effect if ingested?!

Bloody dog is more sensitive than I am!
