Doggy! Introducing a new bed to my dog!

We've bought a nice new bed for our jack russel, but in true jack russel form he just wants to rip it up...he won't leave it alone and just scratches and goes for it. We wrapped it in his old blankets before we put it down but even still he just wants to chew it...help????

I have a shredder and TBH I am fed up of spending money on new beds so the bed is taken away, it won't kill them to lie on the floor/a thinner bed. If I am not in the room supervising (so unable to correct chewing or shredding) then he lies on a cheapo pet fleece or a rubber-bottomed doormat. Yes, I am cruel

But he is oh so fluffy. so he dosnt feel the cold.
