Can anyone recommend or know of something I can put on my dog when hes been in the river to travel home in the car. Thinking similar to what I use on my horse when hes been bathed, wick away rug type thing. Atm I put a towel over him and tuck into his collar but thinking a towelling rug would be good. Does anyone make such a thing. Ta folks

Warmwick coats and Hotterdog fleeces will both do the job, are not too expensive and both work well on Henry. The fleece is good for drying his tummy but you do get wet mucky hands putting it on, as you have to pull their legs through the sleeves. The coat is easier to get on, but not so great for tummy drying. When he's all wet and it's cold weather, I tend to towel Henry off, stick whichever one I have in the car on for the journey home, then swap it for the other one when I get home for maximum drying. :)

GG Equine do a 'doggy towelling bathrobe' - sounds naff but it is fantastic at drying off my smelly wet spangle - I'd recommend getting the brown one as opposed to the white one, unless your dog is very clean! www.ggequine.com

ps - the ultimate wash is also great for getting rid of fox poo!

Am PMSL at the doggy bathrobs although it does look fab - especially with the hood for those soggy spangle ears:D:D:D

I had a zip up towel for my spangle before Sweep - she would sit in it until she was dry:D Sweep however never got the hang of sitting still in it and then chewed a hole in it:mad::rolleyes: so now he has a snuggle fleece coat for the winter/soggy walks:)

Sweep has the blue on and its great:D will get one for Max-i-Moo for when we have been for a walk and go to the pub afterwards:D:D:D

OMG- Think we know what Dex will be getting for xmas..... not because he needs it being short coated, but just because of the photo opportunities you understand!!!!!!

Thanks guys, brilliant suggestions. Katielou, have visions of trying to get 3 spangles to sit in the middle of dog bags in the back of my freelander whilst I zip em up, the possibilities for carnage in the car park are endless!!!! Loving the little bathrobe with the hood though, will check out the other websites and get OH credit card out :)

I have two towelling coats from Forest Fleece. They are brilliant and double as cool coats when it's hot (dunk in cold water). They can be made to measure to suit. Recommend them (not associated with them just satisfied user - my dog won them in a competition they sponsored). www.forestfleece.co.uk.

These are fantastic:-

I use these towelling coats on my working dogs - they have two each! One for lunch time to dry them off / warm them up ready for the afternoon drives and then a dry one for the evening. They are fantastic!! Really wonderful, personal service from this lady and you can pick and choose colours, style etc at no extra cost.

Highly recommended!
