Yesterday I took Fitz to his first workshop (Wag It Games) and Quarrie tried Treiball :D

Wag It games are a mix of agility, obedience, scent work-all sorts really. I didnt have much idea of how he would be, he's quite timid (but not reactive or neurotic) and at worst I could have taken him out and at best I thought it would do his confidence some good. He did so well, even with the barky shepherds-its taken a while to get any focus on me due to him being slightly worried by the world but he's come on massively in the last two weeks. he's very trainable when his numpty owner has some guidance in breaking stuff down. Hope to continue as we are for a bit with a view of starting agility with him later this year and as his ears look as though they are becoming a matching pair, maybe I'll even brave a show one day! Seems a shame not to, I get asked about him all the time so would be good to get him out locally. He did well at the scent work element so will start that with him too-get him caught up with Quarrie.

Quarrie was fabulous-so well behaved. We had a couple of weeks of him being very full on a while ago (he's 11 months) so have worked very hard on impulse control and obedience and its really showing :D In fact, he was even a bit too polite for the way they normally start of the Treiball so we had to skip the initial steps and go straight on to pushing the ball. He really got the hang of it so looking forward to getting a gym ball and trying at home. Lots to work on for both! And knackered dogs by the end, they had both put themselves to bed by 6.30 last night :D

anyone else have a very doggy weekend?

What fun you must all have had.
Well with Pen only being 11 weeks I spent a fair bit of the weekend standing on the lawn, like you do, does that count? My mother keeps complaining that her recall is not 100% - FFS! - so we worked on that. It is 100% in controlled conditions now. :-) .
Did some dummies with Tawny, boot camp really as she is not very interested in them and gets a bit above herself. She liked the one to one attention though.

After doing 8 hour round trips and training like mad the last few weekends, we just did a bit of fitness work and some short tracks and the rest of the time I sat in the garden and read a book lol.

hey, I have done alot of standing on the lawn in the last 10 months or so :p its character building (at least yours isnt on the side of the Southern Uplands!). Fitz had no idea why we were standing on it last thing at night at first, thought I was bonkers so there were some long waits until he cottoned on. I have puppy envy, I do love them and she is gorgeous. Not seen any photos of Tawny recently ;)

Well done! What breed is Fitz? I must have missed that bit.

Doggy weekend here with Spaniel working tests - Zou did well but one silly mistake dropped us from 1st to 5th but out of 20 dogs that's not too bad and he got full marks for all his retrieves. Dan went a bit self employed mid test and came away with 6th, still a good result. Neither has had much training as I've been in KY so I can't be too disappointed! Zou's breeder got to see him and is delighted with his progress so that was nice to hear.....as was the fact my new pup had been born late last week :D
