Will a stair gate with a dog on the other side keep the dog hairs out of the paint or am I on a hiding to nothing?

We've finally got a completion date for out house purchase (yay!) but it unfortunately coincides with when we'll be looking after Daisy for the MIL.We want to strip and repaint before we move in so have no option but to paint whilst she's here, but I can't quite decide whether to leave her in our rented house whilst we paint the new one (means she'll be alone for fair chunks of time during the day) or bring her with and function something to stop Labrador hairs sticking to the fresh paint?!

Thought appreciated and a picture just because she's cute :D

Depending on the layout and what you want to paint, I would think a stair gate to keep her to the kitchen and the garden would be OK. That way she can still be with you but not in the way. We managed to paint our lounge using a stair gate to keep our 3 either in the kitchen and hallway or the garden. Its a military operation with 3 and a silly modern house with the kitchen at the front, but we did it!

No. Nothing keeps dog hair out. I've found one of my own dogs hairs in the fridge at work. And he has certainly never been in it.
Our bathroom door had mummified midges painted into it for years before we got new ones lol.

PMSL! When I was growing up (in a 3 bed bungalow with 10-15 cavaliers at home) there was nowhere that was dog-hair free.......!!!!

If you are using emulsion and quick drying gloss you should be fine. Keep the dog in another room and hoover before you start. Good luck

Whenever I paint I end up with hairy paint and painty dogs, probably my inability to sort things out properly before I start.

Haha , that's what I'm trying to avoid, we have a whole house to strip of wallpaper and paint but floors we want to keep , it's going to be messy!
