My friend has just had her lovely spaniel PTS after eating rat poison on the yard. They are in bait boxes but her YO explicitly tells people not to let their dogs wonder off in case they manage to find a poisoned rat etc.
It's just a reminder really that we all need to make sure we keep an eye on what our dogs are routing about in. I'm very conscious of not letting them drink out of puddles around the yard as I'm terrified of fertiliser residue getting in there or crop spray rinsing.
