Mine eat it, roll in it, and try and eat hoof pickings when the farriers been. They quite often throw up the stuff too. I have to keep a bottle of dog deodoriser in the door of the car, just so as I'm not sick from the smell.

Oh and terrier got a rabbit today

Just thought I'd share that. sm x

lol im lucky mine dont really touch it, but the terrier finds fox poo. My parents terrier however rolls and eats it all and growls if you try to take it from him

Sadly mine eat it. I was reminded of this today when I took my young GSD to Oldcotes show. He was car sick there and back, recycling horse poo.

Just thought you might all like to share that.

Fox poo has to be one of the very worst things a dog will roll in.

aaaahhhh horse poo our lab and hound x dung beetle especially love it in the winter when it takes on a whole new dimension of frozen thus not only is it a ball but when they feel like they need a snack well say no more.
I know there are skunks in the area i am sure some of the poop he rolls in belongs to them dont know for sure but it smells unnatural and i know what fox poop smells like!!!
At some point i am hoping my hound x dung beetle will stop rolling in dead things, poo etc and can progress to a nice leather collar hmmm one day!!!

There is one worse than fox poo that my girl likes - her equivalent of caviar - and yes, it's human. *bright red with embarrassment at being the owner of such a filthy terrier*

Honestly, none of you know how lucky you are;)

The Chanel No 5 of the dog world is pig poo, according to my stinky, horrible little madam of a JRT. It's a big enough pile that she can back flip into it to make sure coverage is at a maximum - little white terror comes back brown right to the tip of her toes - and no matter what you wash her in the stink lasts a week, the full seven days:eek: She's been washed in vinegar, ketchup, fairy liquid, washing powder and even sprayed with frebreeze:o Nothing but nothing gets rid of the smell any quicker.....

Mind you, tortoise poo is fairly persistent smelly too:confused:

At least fox and horse poo is one bath and gone and being seriously lazy, I don't mind the dogs clearing a stable for me - but I never, ever let them lick me:D:D

now fox poo! thats a totall smelly nightmare!! why why why do they do it??!!:p

My dear, departed, west highland terrier thought he was the bee's knees when he covered himself in fox poo! He used to strut about with his chest puffed out so I reckon its the canine version of Lynx. :)

erm, pig poo......my eyes are watering. I have to say the caviar lasts about a week and three shampoos. *mental note to avoid pig farms on pain of death*

oh my JRT is disgusting! she eats horse pooh like its dog biscuits. and she eats rabbit pooh, and worst of all she takes cat pooh out of the litter tray and brings it into the living room to eat! double disgusting!! oh and chicken pooh, but she doesnt really eat it she just picks it up and deposit its where she feels appropriate!! when she was a pup she rolled in the slimiest fox pooh ever and was absolutley covered, her harness and coller were plastered so i stuck the hose on her and cleaned her off before she got in my car, she didnt talk to me for about a week haha!!
how can something so cute be so disgusting!

mine eats hoof trimmings, horse poo, rabbit poo and will roll in fox poo if I don't catch her. manky wee mare!
Everyone comments on her shiny coat and i always joke at it being down to horse poo lol
the hoof trimmings make her vomit so I keep her away from that.

Shysmum, how does your dog get human poo!!!! yuk!! I think she is winning so far in the mankiest dog comp lol.

OOOoooooooooo *blush* - nowt to do with me !!!

Tbh, it's only been when we take her out for walks along the Teesdale Way. I think peeps get caught short, go and hide behind a bush or tree, and the terrier just sniffs it a mile off. It's happened three times in ten years, but believe me, it's stuck in my memory as the very worst thing I've had to wash off. I'm not squeamish at all, but that......And it got into her collar - binned that as soon as. For some reason, I don't walk her that way any more :D smx

I'm trying very hard to keep my dinner down.....

oh hoof trimmings are the worst. missy ate loads of it and 2 am the next morning i could hear her chewing on something on my bed. turned the light on to see she had vomited up all the hoof she had eaten and had eaten the vomit back up and was chewing on a chunk of hoof that she'd thrown up. deffinatly not something you want to see 2 in the morning!! but human pooh, thats rank lol!

why do they do that ? why do they try and eat it all back up ? I know (shame on me for admitting this) it helps with the cleaning up, but all the same...YUCK !!

Mine likes to not only eat hoof trimmings for starters, horse poo for mains but finishes it up with lick of fresh cow pat with sprinkle of sheep *hit for pud. And then feeling very pleased a quick roll to make ones self smell of 'perfume of badger ****'.
Mine has to take the biscuit!!

Cold hose, tea tree shampoo or washing up liquid before anything / anyone else dares to get close!!
Yukky mut!

Yup, I try and use the hose, but tend to get savaged - you take your life in your hands bathing my terrier, and don't even mention the hairdryer :D

If my two plan thier walk right they can have a couple of mouthfuls of sheep poo as we cross the corner of lamb field, a good scoff of cow poo while we walk through Highlands field and then finish it off with good old horse poo while I'm doing the pony. If they are very lucky they can find a rotting carcass (rabbit/bird etc) to eat and then roll in too.

As to hoof trimmings, the English Bull Terrier thinks these are the best things ever and has to be shut away while the farrier is here as otherwise she will be trying to hang onto the foot as he is cutting bits off.

Years ago when my daughter was being potty trained I had a Dalmatian who was very partial to a bit of toddler poo - he was the most amazing thief and could walk past the potty and somehow purse his lips and suck and the poo was gone in a split second

:eek:Well I'll leave it unsaid what happened last time I cleaned by gelding's bits - one very happy labrador tho, pony didn't notice either :eek:

My springer and westie both love to munch on horse poo. A good rootle around in the muck heap is a daily delight as well. Even worse, the cats' litter tray is full of little delicacies as far as they're concerned. Kiss? No thank you very much!

one of my labs eats every kind of poo, including her own. she also eats any other disgusting thing we come across on walks, including things long dead

This has made us cry with laughter! Our two labs do all the above apart from the toddler poo! They also are a dab hand at cleaning up cat sick and work as a team - one barfs, the other assists. What I want to know is how do dogs and cats know to walk backwards when they are barfing?

OMG lol def the title of HHO's most minging mutt goes to yours. I just think some of this must have been learned at home!! Am I right in thinking that he didn't wait till the yuk bits fell off the horse??

Present Dalmatian threw up on my bed and soaked through both feather and down duvets. I threw duvets on floor in spare bedroom while I decided what to do with them. While I was out Spotty then stole from bin a jacket potato I had incinerated in Rayburn (think charred concrete) and cut his mouth in several places while trying to eat it, and bled all over both duvets! Cue one expensive cleaning bill and one Dalmatian who is paying for it out of his bonio money.........

My dog does most of the above, he especially loves "cat truffles" (from the litter tray) and also helps himself to the contents of the bin like it's his own personal fridge. THE most disgusting dog ever though was our old JRT. Once he found a box of live crickets that I had for my lizards. He opened the box and they went everywhere. We were hoovering up crickets for weeks! He was also rather partial to cows placenta and couldn't even wait for it to come away - he'd be tugging and dangling off the back of the poor girls! He also once got hold of an aborted foal which was not nice at all. But that's terriers for you - delightful creatures!

haha!! Love it, Gizmo, great pic ! No the dog does not wait till the bits fall off *have I really admitted that * Just got back from the field, and she was down the rabbit hole where she caught one yesterday, and refused point blank to come in the car. When I finally caught her, she was covered in horse poo again, and a thick layer of clay-ey mud, but she was soooooo pleased with herself.

Once, a long time ago, she went down a badger sett and after a few minutes, there was one hell of a racket from down the hole - me going beserk thinking she was going to get killed, the screaming was horrific. For ages we tried to get her to come out, but in the end hubs said she may not come out alive.

In desperation we walked off hoping that if she couldn't hear us, she would come out - little ***** popped her head up to see where we'd gone, then went back down for more. Since then, she has not been allowed off an extender lead - until 2 weeks ago, when all this poo stuck flared up..
