Introductions are going well between our two dogs and our new puppy, but our youngest dog (she is 2) is a little bit jealous at times. Any tips for making the process as painfree as possible for her?
Bess (the 2 year old) has been the spoilt baby since she arrived, which is totally our fault. She was the last in so has never had to deal with this before, unlike our Great Dane x Husky JD, who is 10 and had to cope with the arrival of Bess and two kittens. JD is coping fine, she’s curious but giving the puppy space and is showing no signs of jealousy.
Bess is trying to control the pup a bit, which I totally understand, she’s just reminding her who rules the roost around here!
Any helpful tips greatfully received though. Pup has her second jabs on Monday, so she is still not allowed out for another week or two. She’s been exploring our large garden though.
Also, toilet training tips? JD came toilet trained 10 years ago but Bess was an absolute nightmare when she arrived. She was still trying to go in the house when she was over 1.
Puppy has peed on the other dogs night beds, so we have lifted those and won’t put them down til night time. She did poop outside though!
I’m taking her into the garden every half an hour and after her food.
Any puppy tips appreciated.
