I have nothing against dogs on the yard, provided they are under control (either tied up, or come to call - preferabley no matter who calls) and don't chase/bark at the horses etc.
I don't have a dog, but do take them down with me when I dog sit for friends (the 2 i usually take down don't bother with the horses but i keep them on the lead at all time, mainly because i'm worried about loosing them) and my sister takes the in-laws dogs down, but they just follow her around.
The YO and YM also have several dogs between them, all but 2 are locked up, and only one is loose at all times because she doesn't like being shut in, but she normally just falls asleep in the hayleg.
The reason i'm asking is one of the liveries keeps brining her 2 terriers down, she only lets them loose when the YM isn't there. They don't really do anything, but they get in the way, and they don't really go back to her when she calls them. Twice i've had them around Blues legs (once in the school and she made no effort to come grab it - just stood at the gate and called, telling me to carry on....I couldn't because i had no idea where the dog was other than under me somewhere) Talking to the YM when she got back earlier and one of them has also gone for her 2year old daughter (who she ended up taking upstairs for a bit while the terriers were about, putting her behind in jobs.)....*mini rant over*
So what do you all think?
