OMG where do they find these owners?? Surely some common sense should be a prerequisite before you can own a dog!! I'm not perfect by any means and have cocked up elements of training, but like most of us on here have sought help from a trainer/instructor be it dog or horse, but it's apparent these people probably haven't ever thought to do that until things are so bad...THAT PUG - Why the feck is it on a BLEEDY FLEXI LEAD unlocked outside a cafe?? If it had nipped me as I was jogging past it would be flying through the air....It just makes you want to shake the owners...Rant over!

It’s a ridiculous program and tries to make out that training takes a couple of minutes and he is a superstar trainer…. I’m afraid I can’t watch it after he told a whippet puppies owner to put it in a crate and leave it to cry as it was trying it on. Poor little thing had just left its mum and siblings and was distressed. Anyone who has owned a whippet knows they are very sensitive and need very careful management if they are being left alone , all puppies need sensitive handling but to say this innocent little puppy was trying it on made me angry…. There is no way he would be allowed anywhere near my dogs, I can’t bear him

I don't watch it very often but tuned in last night. I was shouting abuse at the pug's owners. How utterly thick, ignorant, stupid, selfish and inconsiderate can some people be! 🤬🤬🤬🤬

Just the most awful show. Just shows how wearing some tweed and having a catchy business name can get you anywhere. So many people think he is amazing, because they don't know any better ( or want to know) and they don't watch the dog, just listen to his outdated babbling. He used to be a manager at a Weetabix factory apparently o_Oo_Oo_O

I watched only one of his shows, the one where he thought it was a good idea to stare down a Great Dane on a sofa, I mean, just why? He's lucky he didn't get his face taken off.

I tend not to watch any of that sort of rubbish.

The Weetabix part is true!

I've never watched a whole episode but I usually see a clip and think things like 'shut the door....put it in another room when you're eating....put a leash on it'

Etc etc. There was a woman with a Weimaraner and I couldn't work out whether she'd decorated the house to match the dog or bought the dog to match the decor.

Watching the first episode now… I do wonder sometimes why people get huge dogs and don’t bother to put the training in 🤦🏼‍♀️

We have a running joke about Graeme in this house, his only solution to a problem is to stand in front of the dog and shout no 🤣

That pug gets around. I saw it in the summer, its unlocked extending lead and its woman on one side of the shared path. On pinging my bell to advise that I was approaching a man who was cunningly hidden in the hedge on the other side of the shared path magically appeared and told the woman to bring the dog across the path to him, he being the person holding the flexi lead. There are variations on this theme but at least this dog wasn't dragged across the path by its neck

We watched the first couple of episodes when it first came on TV. We are far from expert dog trainers, but all I kept saying was, why are they letting the dog do that? CC helped me immensely when we got Bo. She said I had to think about what I was doing as much as him.
I think this is why we liked our last trainer so much. The others (one was on telly, apparently, couldn’t tell you his name but he certainly charged celebrity prices!) all just tried-and failed-to train the dog. Our successful trainer trained us possibly more than she trained the dog and crucially, honed in on his breed traits.

I nearly died when my young nieces were staying with us and went up to the kennel of the one dog growling at them, put their hands up à la a traffic cop and said “noooooo!” in a loud voice. Then proudly said they watched Dogs Behaving Badly and that’s what Graeme had taught them 🙈

I quite like it, for entertainment value. That "Dog Academy" Sent me to sleep!
And that is the problem and why shows like the Dog Father and Cesar Millan get watched more. Good dog training isnt 'sexy' and takes time.

I love Dog Academy as it shows that a behaviour is not always caused by what you think and you need to think outside the box sometimes. Must have been more than me watching it, as they have just finished recording a second series :)
