how long would you expect food to remain in the stomach for?


reason I ask is that my pup was just sick in the car and what she brought back was completely undigested, what she had been fed 3 1/2 hours previously Id have thought it would have been passing through after that amount of time surely?

I think food takes approx 8 hours to pass all the way through (although I could be completely wrong); not sure how long it stays in the stomach, but mine have sicked up kibble before, a few hours after feeding, and its still formed but very soft and mucussy.

I guess, as well it depends what you are feeding. mine are on raw now, and food seems to pass through quicker.
