Dogs eating horse poo

I try to keep mine away, but its difficult when mucking out. Does it do them any harm?

I hope not! Mine like it nice and fresh - just landed! Bit partial to chicken poo, guinea pig poo...actually any poo. My collie even used to eat his own when we first got him

just be wary if your horse is on any medication/wormers etc that may affect your dog!!

No, but it makes a hell of a mess in your boot when they throw it up in the back of the car...

Mine always help me muck out and one sits in the wheelbarrow while poo picking in the field!! Shouldn't do them any harm as long as they are regularly wormed.

It makes my spaniel so windy and loose that I don't take her to the yard any more.

It can make them ill if the horse has been given medication but if it is 'clean' horse poo then its okay I guess. Dogs eat other animals poo when they are missing vitamins from their diet. It is called coprophagia.

Yeah, my dogs eat poo of all kinds - nice. Cat poo is the worst - makes breath really yucky.
Horse poo is mainly re-constituted grass so no harm will come to dogs eating it providing horse is healthy and worm free.
Our dogs are not lacking anything in diet- just like poo!!!
