Dogs eating snow

I noticed Monty was eating the snow this morning when out for our walk. Does anyone else's dog do this and more importantly will it hurt him?

Yup - every time I come in from outside Amy eats the snow that falls off my wellies Nope it wont hurt him... just means he is slightly lacking in brain cells IMHO (well, if he is like Amy that is!)

Dax caught and ate so many snowballs yesterday that she made herself sick.

B eats all the snow off our shoes and digs up the crunchy layer outside to eat. She just sticks her head in the fluffy snow!

Bear sat on the garden bench and licked off all the snow.

He likes to lick my boots clean when I get back from the yard,too, the little weirdo!

Yup that is Flick's favourite too - she spends ages carrying it around with her, and is most aggrieved when I wont let her keep it

i have a little swedish vallhund from the husky group and he always eats snow with no problems. he just loves it when it snows, and it doesn't stick to his coat either ;-)
