Well took Finny and Tinks down to help me do Jaggles (as usual) to play with their staffie friend!!

With a bit of luck, now OH has decided it is OK to have R baptised and that he wouldnt turn into a brainwashed bible basher because he went to a RC school, it should be next spring

Lovely to see a staffy playing and having fun......round here you only ever see tham being dragged round housing estates in studded harnesses!

Oh, and that other big dog's quite nice too.

Nope, not going to see one of theirs in the best in breed ring at Crufts next year(althought here are a fair few champions in the pedigree's) but they produce happy, healthy family pets.I LOVE that they gush over how lovely the dogs are to be around(most important thing for me is that the dog a nice person, can live with something that doesnt make the grade in the show ring very happily) and they are really nice people.
I have no intrest in showing so that is just what I am after

Spoke to one KC acredated breeder who ALMOST put me off, she was so offhand about her dogs(nope, NOT naming names!!)

Ohhh I remember I was looking on epupz and saw a few of his litters on there! It was this pic that made me look into him a bit more... EPUPZ PUPPIES - note - Obv I don't think this ist the same breeder that you were looking at - I should imagine Zeus was used as stud.

[/ QUOTE ]Thta's all that counts - I didn't get Finny because he had Veldtkammer lines (wiped the floor at crufts this year winning almost everything!!!) - I got him as I LOVED the look of daddy and his colouring and as you said the guy was nice to speak too.

Maybe it's the look of them got to admit they do fit what the "well ard dog" lot are after.
It was the look that atracted me to them(so Dane like but without the bad points!) but like any responsable person I want a happy family pet not something to show off with.OH's friend on the other hand, thinks it would be (to quote him) "f**king well ard, nothing would beat that in a fight would it?" and that prat think I am going to breed (as if, too much hassle for me, esp when it isnt going to be top bloodlines)and give him a pup!!!
So perhaps thats why they dont like to sell them to non showing homes?

My Aunt's harly grew too big (20 odd stone of pure muscle, stunning Dane) and he had amazing lines so we were all gutted he couldnt be shown.Got some amazing pups from him though...sadly all missing a brain just like him

Can understand completly why breeders are cautious who they sell to,but dont understand why some are so hostile.Surely they would want other people to be as enthusiastic about the breed they love??
