Wales and Scotland aren't as overcrowded as England. A trip to "the countryside", "the beach" or "the forest" in most of England on a weekend requires a very tolerant, dependable horse these days, IMO.
ETA I had a greyhound jump up on the side of my last horse, not to mention the many threats from loose, big dogs and yapping little'uns round his back legs.
I don't think that's acceptable TBH.
