Dogs pee'ing on people!!!

Why do some dogs cok their legs and wee on people??? my dog used to do it on anything that stood still and the worst was when he cocked his leg on a young couple led down kissing in the park. I have bee pee'd on by a labrador and the pee went down my wellies and I seen a dog do the same thing on my father in law the other day, the owner of the dog was so embarassed.

I have no idea but our dog peed up my friends brand new leather riding boots not once but twice. We dragged the dog away very quickly. How embarrasing is that!!

What I really don't understand is how people don't remonstrate their dogs when they do this. Unless the dog is taught that it's wrong, it will carry on.

I've had people bring dogs into our shop, and not tell the dog off when it cocks it leg on dog toys, sacks of dog food, clothes for sale... it seems as if people are scared of what others will think if they tell off their dog in public.

It's a dominance/ownership thing. In a pack, all dogs would pee on everything as they roamed their territory to mark it as theirs and to tell everyone else to p!ss off! It is instant proof that the dog is boss in the house. No careful owner should allow it and, depending on the breed etc, the "attitude" could even escalate.
