I dont know how true this is.it was on sky too though....but my god!
I cant decide if i think he is a complete and utter idiot for demanding them back or if i feel sorry for him.... though the cynic in me wonder's how his dogs ended up the way they did and why he fought a 4 year battle to have them returned..

Shocking story either way..

Sorry about the title i couldnt figure out how to phrase it...

Wow - what do you say to that - just wow. I wonder if the guy ever felt threatened by his dogs and just denied it or if there was no percieved threat? They were "wanted" for attacking other people and still he wanted to save them. Talk about Darwin Award winner....

Eek thats bad luck, and to think I was being recommended bull mastiffs in a previous thread for my yard.

Sorry but what a tw@t!!! I don't feel sorry for him, it's his own stupid fault, they must have been aggressive for a reason. Feel sorry for the dogs for the years of upset they seem to have been through but thats about it!
I think its called irony isn't it!
Anyway as bad as it is to find comedy in a fellow humans demise, that had me laughing out loud when I read it! SO thanks for posting! LOL

I wouldn't worry about that, one bad owner and one horrible event doesn't mean every mastiff is a killer.

As far as I know about Bullmastiff's history, they were bred to help gamekeepers to guard against poachers by catching and calmly hold on to/prevent the poacher from escaping, until the gamekeeper caught up and could take over the responsibility for the poacher, when not guarding they should have a good and docile temperament.
I would say that the behaviour of these three Bullmastiffs is not characteristic for the breed and then we're left with the question about why they had that behaviour in the first place, wrong breeding or wrong owner?

Either way, they were probably put in custody for some reason and I doubt being kept in custody for 4 years improved anything...
