Some may remember when I had my old pony PTS in June 2011. Here she is;

Still miss her obviously, but it was the right decision for her.

then browsing, found this;

I wish i could....

Reminds of a situation when I too had lost my old boy for well over a year and I was at a hunter trials sat in a friends lorry, when a horse poked it's head round the door, both my friend and I literally did a double take as it could have been my old boy stood there!

Go for it! I wish I could have done, but that horse wasn't for sale.

I honestly would love to, but money, or lack of means I really can't. It may not be the initial outlay of buying her, but I struggle to find the vet/farrier money for my current 2 as it is.. despite having own land, it really isn't do-able, unless I win some money on the lotto - or get a wealthy person to 'sponsor' said pony!!
Wish I hadn't looked! Lovely isn't she. Hope she finds a good caring home.

She's lovely :) I don't think I could ever have a horse that looked too much like my one which was PTS, because it would bring back too many memories and I think subconsiouly I'd be expecting it to behave as the old one did

They're both beautiful I'm a sucker for a dun/buckskin. I don't think I could have one that looked like a previous one either, it would mess with my mind a bit!

No matter how much you want it new pony can never be old pony and I know so many people (me included) who have fallen into that trap.

New pony will be him/herself in every respect and to even wish otherwise is doing them a huge mis-service. :)

I think it's best not to go for one so much the same as your old one. Very sorry for your loss, it's hard. You would be endlessly making comparisons between old & new, not good for the new one.

They do look strikingly similar. Reading between the lines of her ad she sounds a bit of a handful though. Her ad says she 'Needs continuous regular work to develop full potential. A sweet nature but very forward going and feisty. Perfect for an experienced rider with time, skill and ambition!.' :eek:
