I've almost finished ours. We didn't have the funds to buy the lorry we wanted so went for one that was mechanically very sound but looked aweful

Floor in the horse area (11'6 x 7'4") was replaced with 2 layers of far eastern mahogany ply. Total cost was £320 for materials and took me around 20 hours.
Exterior was rubbed down to remove all paint. Some skirts were replaced with the galvanised steel I took out of the horse area (saved money). All external catches were replaced with internal ones to give the lorry a sleeker look.
Metal work then primed with acid etch primer. Whole lorry sprayed with twin pack undercoat (3 layers rubbed down betwen coats) followed by 2 coats of metalic gold base coat then 3 coats of twin pack lacquer. Total cost of materials was around £800 but this could have been reduced to approx £300 if I had used an acrylic paint. I went for the lacquer option as the finish is better and much more scratch resistant.
Only have the living to refurb now and planning on a budget of around £700 but this will be a luxury installation.
Before and after pics will follow as soon as photobucket site comes back up.

I'm just doing the living on mine but have spent nearly 2k so far. And still have a few things to do. My friends hubby and his mate fitted everything inc wall carpet and lino this weekend.
