Hi everyone!
Someone kick me up the ass....please!!!!!
It's been a very weird weekend. A very "mildly" horsey one as opposed to every waking minute. Yesterday, I had an "afternoon nap" - does anyone here remember those????? Currently dinner is cooking
cool
, the washing is washed
and homework is done rather than the usual "OMG life outside riding needs to be attended to" panic!!!!
So yes, Dolly is still lame.
She seems slightly better. When she first came out lame last Tuesday she wouldn't trot up, and now she will, although she is obviously lame (even to me) on her right foreleg.
We've given her a week of box rest but the vet will now hopefully be out on Tuesday.
For those who didn't see the last thread, she went to a comp last Saturday and put a spectacular stop in, even for Dirty Stop Dolly. She was then VERY grumpy on Sunday (which I kick myself for not investigating further) and then had a cracking jumping lesson last Monday. Then on Tuesday she was about to be turned out, but was found to be lame.
So after a week of box rest, I finally saw her trotted up on Satuday and yes, right foreleg it seems to be.
Obvious possibilities are her hoof (was shod a week before she went lame), her leg (pulled something possibly) or the dreaded laminitis (which, has always been on my mind - she is an obvious candidate for this). I suppose I just need to hope the vet can shed some more light on it.
In the meantime, daughter is climbing the walls. She's ridden once in the past 7 days as opposed to the usual.....god knows how many times.....!!!! She's stir crazy, hormonal and going mad!!!!!! I'm seriously thinking of going up in the loft and finding the hobby horses!!!
I can't handle a pony AND a daughter on box rest!!!!
Anyway, just thought I'd update for those who asked in my last thread how we were getting on, and also so I could be served with the kick up the rear I need to be a little more positive!! I honestly don't know how those of you with poorly ponies cope - our Dolly seemed indestructible, and now fragile. Although in herself she seems happy (took OH grass skiing yesterday, which honestly, really needed to be seen!!!! Apparently, he was "letting her have some" lol!!!!
) I just really hope she's mended soon. I know I'll be watching her forever now.
Anyway, here's some photos.....

taken about 3 weeks ago, so you can see how her weight is currently

happy girls

my favourite photo....of all times actually
Get well soon Dolly, I miss watching you throw my daughter around!
Will swop magnum ice cream and really cheap and nasty wine (just typed wind instead of wine lol!!!!) for healing vibes to Dollys legs and feet
Thanks everyone x
