Not been on this forum in a while and just wanted to give an update on domino-5 yo cob and phoenix-1yr 7mnths cob,after the last thread i posted 'what do you think of my horses feet'.I moved them from the field they were in at the time to a quiet yard.I couldnt get domino feet,vacc,lice treatment done in the field because he was scared from everything and people were going in the field drinking,setting fires,breaking the fence etc.They were treated with deosect for lice (phoenix had them when i bought him and gave them to domino) They both had the full course of vaccinations,had feet trimmed,wormed.They have both had their first bath-domino was always scared of water and wouldnt let us near him with it but he was surprisingly good Domino was hard to catch and lead at the start and would drag me into the barley field.I worked on leading ALOT and even managed to take him walks by the barley field and i havent had a problem with his leading for a long time Domino and phoenix were inseperable in the field and when being worked (phoenix was scared of all the other horse) but are now always worked seperatley with no trouble and are mixing with other horses.I am so much more confident with domino and if he spooks or something i can reassure him now rather than freak out myself.When ridden work began for domino he would refuse to move alot or bolt so we got a massage therapist out but no change.Then he started to try bite me when leading or near him so got a dentist out and his wolf teeth had come through so got them out and he has been so much better.He wouldnt move without me walking with him or leading him but has now improved.He goes out hacks almost every week too and is good but will occasionally spook.My neice was on him and sat backwards,lay on him,stood up on him,slid of his bum etc and he doesnt even care My little sister has been on him and loved him and even my mum who has been terrified from horses all her life after being chased by one.Domino is the first horse she has clapped and sat on and she loved him.She said he is so friendly,timid and beautiful.He was soo good for them.Phoenix is the quietest young horse i have ever met,such a cutie I have been long reining him the past week (only in walk) and he has picked it up so fast.My 6yo nephew sat on him for the first time for a minute last week and he didnt even lift his head from hay or put his ears back or anything,he is soo lazy though but i love them both sooo much Cant believe i have had domino 2 years on december.Sorry that was so long and here are alot of photos :)

Funnily enough I was thinking about these two the other day and wondering how you were getting on

The set up you have now looks far, far superior to the original and you have been working very hard indeed by the looks of it - very well done!

Thanks alot.I love the yard we're at and the horses seem to aswell,hopefully stay there for a while.They are loads of fun.Domino had his first gallop yesterday :) and he was trotting for about 20/30 minutes without stopping :) Phoenix usually is hard work to get trotting in hand-such a lazy plod along cob haha but today he trotted about 4 times without being chased :)

You weren't lying when you said you had posted loads of photos ;)

It nice to hear from you again { I was a lurker on your other posts}

Your ponys look really well, they should make cracking little ponys

Loving the poppys in the mane :)

Well done Marie. They are both looking great. Phoenix has done a bit of growing since you last posted. Lovely to see you and them so settled after the bumpy start you had :)

I was thinking about you and your ponies the other day and wondering how you are all getting on. What a good news story they both look so much better, and it seems as if you can enjoy them now instead of worrying all the time.

Domino looks super and a lot of fun for all the family, and I am sure that with time and patience you will make progress with Phoenix. My two year old cobs are not sure they want to play at leading, but it has been worth spending time getting them good to handle.

Aww that is so good to hear.People used to always say how 'dangerous' he was and saying we should sell him but you can honestly do anything with/to domino-sit in front of him,crawl under him etc well today i sprayed his hoof with purple spray which i got for phoenix because he gets cracks on his feet and he does not like spray lol Today i had his stable door open while i was outside and he would go to the door to be nosy but didnt come out (even when i was sorting the bag of carrots) and if he did take a step further and pointed to him and said back up and he did everytime which is soo cute cause he used to be so bargy that people were even telling me to punch his face when he was,obviously i never did and was only at that yard for 4 days because they fed him and i wasnt want him to be mistreated.He still has bad days-only refusing to move,trotting when asked to walk but he listens more and i actually cant believe the change in him.We have more good days and barely any bad now so i dont complain :)
