Because it isn't meant to be be swallowed by the horse, can I get away with smearing it all over his gums using my fingers rather than the syringe? Blummin' horse hates syringes and I can predict that he will have a total fit if I try to administer it that way with most of the stuff going over the floor....

I WILL be wearing rubber gloves BTW!
 
Yes it needs to be taken in through the membranes of the mouth not swallowed, ensure you rub it in well so he cannot spit it out, make sure your gloves are good as it will get you otherwise!
