Donate you unwanted horse bits

While browsing horse bits I came across an awful picture of the bits used in India they are like medieval torture devices. Under the picture was a link to help these horses take a look.

Must admit I've tried donating my unused bits and they come back and say they perfer my money.

Was it the same charity? I think charities would do so much better if they accpeted the bits you sent. Yes money is a huge help to them but so are the bits!

I think the problem is they get donated bits larger than they actually can use although they've got to be better than the horrific things already in use. The Gambia Horse and Pony charity said they need mainly 4.5 and 5 inch bits as the horses in these countries are quite small.

Interesting idea. I've quite a few 4.5 and 5in bits kicking about the place. Would be good to let them go to somewhere useful. Never thought of donating them to a charity.

Thanks for mentioning the bit size I completely forgot to mention that! I hope the horses get sufficent care they need same in all countries. In many Eastern European countries donkeys are subjected to torture as the people are ill educated they believe they are healing them of thier illness etc. It is so lovely to be on this forum to see how caring people are to thier animals.
