Donating rugs to charity

After loosing Misty, I've just sorted out a pile of rugs to take over to HAPPA tomorrow.

Now feeling a bit guilty and as they are used, and some are a bit dirty, but I really don't want the expense of getting them all cleaned.

Are charities happy to accept rugs in "used" condition? They're all perfectly good rugs.
 
Give them a brush/hoover on the inside first.

I should think that most charities are so inundated atm that as long as they aren't going to fall apart the moment they put the rug on a pony, they aren't fussed about them being spotless.
 
Very kind thought, but a small charity I know refuses rugs unless they are clean...as they can't use 'worn' rugs and the cost/time involved in getting them done is not viable... realistically at £10 cleaning per rug this could be expensive. After all we don't send unwashed clothes to charity shops! However this may not be the policy with bigger charities.
 
A quick update, I rang HAPPA and they said they where happy to accept the rugs in any condition as they have washing facilities on site.

So they where happy to accept my 12 rugs :)
