I have a pair of Muck Boot co long boots which are very durable and great for poo picking in the winter but too hot for summer and too stiff for riding in. End of last year I bought some cheap boots off ebay someone on here suggested they had been about £80 and were reduced to £30 because of a flaw in the stiching, they lasted 6 months which for that price I thought was ok.

I then bought some kinpurnie from Derby House which had had good reviews, again I have had them for about 10 months and the foot is now coming off them. They have been worn every day for an hour or so but cleaned regularly so I am a bit disappointed.

Is this just the way things are if I want Country Boots or do I inneed to look at spend a few hundred quid to get a pair that last a few years? IF so I might still be better off buying cheaper ones in the sale every 6-12 months?? I would also prefer black ones and everywhere sells brown grrr

I picked up some HKM Madrid boots last summer, I've worn them day in day out and they are still going strong. I think I paid £50-£60 for them. I fully expected them to have fallen apart by now but they haven't (despite all last winters wet weather). Its the first cheap boot that I've bought that hasn't been leaking by now!

Thanks, I have seen some HKM in black too so will have a look

I also have the HKM madrid boots! had them over 2 years now, still going strong, although I did not wear them every day, probably 4 days a week but dog walking, riding, walking through muddy fields etc etc they have not been looked after that well and I still love them!! so nice to ride in & have had a few horses step on them!!
because I dont wanna ruin them I normally buy cheap wellies for really bad/muddy days (just brought nature bound neoprene wellies for £25 and they are super comfy and warm + really good reviews on them!) but always change into the hkm ones for riding as they're soo comfy!!
