Saturday went to the CBHS AGM and annual dinner and presentation of the Performance Awards

So the AGM was a very 'interesting' meeting - imagine the parish meetings in the Vicar of Dibley - throw in a some Yorkshire farmers testerone and that's how it was

- hubby lost the will to live when it took them nearly an hour to count the votes - and then we had to revote

The dinner at the auction centre was fanastic ! Full roast and very very good!

Then the bit we had really come for - the awards!!

Had a really nice mention in the preamble - very chuffed!

Started with the inhand, sitting with baited breath, was so disapointed that I did not get anywhere, they continued with the inhand awards and all of a sudden my name was called out - we had come second in the inhand mare section (I'd got classes confused ) - cue one very happy Donkey owner!

Then onto the ridden pure bred class - I think you could have knocked me over with a feather - we'd won it

Finally the Champion ridden horse (part breds and purebreds) and I don't think my gob could have smiled any further - WE'D WON IT - MY DONKEY IS A CHAMPION Beautiful horses head trophy - that hubby would not let me take to bed - said it was too god fatherish!!!

And then I won a bottle of champagne in the raffle - although hubby moaned that I should have picked the tool set (men!!)

Still gobsmacked - I've never won a championship

ooohhh very well done

you're going to have to pick a special boy to use to produce a baby donkey when the time comes. No 'any old nag' for a champion ;-))
