Hi, does anyone know of any donkey back packs and baskets for sale please? They seem to be like hens teeth!

There was a bit on countryfile last week I think about a village who have a 'working' donkey who carries and delivers food. They had a couple of seconds on There about the saddles, packs, baskets. I'm sure it was Cirencester Saddlers who explained it. They were inthat area. Might be worth looking up? I'm using my phone at the mo so can't see where you're based but just a thought...

Yep, I saw that - we are in Cornwall so a bit far. I've just emailed the Clovelly Donkey Centre to see if they have any links. They were used all over Cornwall last century, I'm sure someone has one sitting in a barn somewhere!

Was just going to say this - it was Cirencester Saddlers. They are being made up specially for the donky featured. Shouldn't worry about distance, they do work for people all over the country.

Have you thought about a Klibber ? A cheaper option, also traditional, these are made by Journeyman leather, the saddler lives in Shetland and breeds and works Shetlands; http://www.journeyman-leather.co.uk/klibber8.html
