I did find an old post relating to this but I have a more specific question.

My YO wants to put a small female donkey in with my three horses, the grazing is sparse but the horses are getting round bales of haylage.

I'm worried about the donkey passing on worms, the haylage being too rich for her and she's likely to be bullied initially. Oh and she's also got some kind of scabby patch on her chest area.

I don't have a clue about donkeys only at they are loud.

Thanks Archiepoo, I will give the Irish Donkey sanctuary a ring tomorrow they seem to be linked to the English site. I just don't want the horses getting lung worms nore do I want the Donkey to get sick from the haylage.

We've done it, but personally I never would with my own. They need such different diets. The worming is only a problem if you don't worm properly.

Look at the photo provided in the link... it's not a nice grassy pasture. That for me is the biggest problem. Not the horses but the donkey, they are renowned for being very prone to laminitus but don't show the symptoms in the same way and have a very high pain threshold.
