I've received my renewal quote for my veteran, who is rising 20. When I read through the policy booklet, it mentions that illness cover ceases from the age of 20. I had thought that with this provider it continued as long as you were already insured, but after enquiry that isn't the case.
I now have the option (through my broker) of moving him onto another policy, which covers him for illness up to 25 and also to a much greater amount.
I just wanted to give people a heads up - if your horse is nearing 20, make sure you switch policy before! It was just chance that I read that little snippet, as I was happy with their service and so not planning to switch.
