I am a firm believer of not knocking something until I have tried it, and I have had my 1st encounter of Natural Horsemanship this afternoon, and whilst I'm not going to knock it its not for me.
I had some issues on lunging and this lady was recommended to me, alot of what see did made total sense, well more the practical side really, it really went pear shape when the mumbo jumbo talk came .If only she hadn't started talking about his left and right brain speaking and how she felt him tense when she wrapped the lunge whip around his neck.
I think the final straw came for me when whilst she led him into the stable he slightly rushed in, hasn't done this before and certainly isn't an issue for me, but she felt he had issues with claustophobia(sp), no I thought he was probably in ahurry to get away from you!.
Now I know some people think its great, and as I said earlier some of what she was doing was common sense and worked, but then IMO she went OTT with the blurb.
So I'm a fair few quid poorer, ribbed by the farrier who watched I'm now taking comfort in a choccie biscuit a cup of tea and my holiday diet goes out the window again.
