I had my boy PTS several weeks ago. I didn't realise how much 'stuff' I had acquired! I really don't know what to do with it all. I have offered rugs to a rescue centre but they said they would sell them as they don['t believe in rugging!!! Surely old and ill horses may need rugging?

Ideas please.

I'd still give it all to the rescue centre - maybe they have a stock of rugs for oldies/ sickies and don't need any more - I sort of agree more damage done by not checking under rugs every day than just leaving everything to grow a proper winter coat.
If they sell them they will put the cash to good use I'm sure, assuming it's a proper charity not just a 'rescue' center run by nutters who buy things from sales they can't look after!!

I gave all my rugs etc to my yard owner as there was little point me keeping them in thr garage!
Have you tried riding schools etc?
Im surprised a rescue centre wouldnt take them! Even for 'emergancy causes' oh well their loss!

Sorry to hear about your boy. If you think you might want another horse at some point then maybe just keep for a while longer. Otherwise, what about giving to the local RDA centre. I'm sure they'll appreciate more rugs.

I don't know which charity you contacted but a fellow livery has recently taken on a blue cross horse and they were keen not take any surplus rugs, tack etc x

Equine Market watch will make good use of anything going - rugs especially.

Use a courier for cheap shipping.
