I was due to view a horse last weekend but unfortunately I ended up in hospital and only got out Sunday afternoon so couldn't go, I informed the lady of my situation, so was agreed that I go up this weekend, but now I have just lost my grandma only yesterday so I will need to go back down to Portsmouth for the funeral and cannot afford to do both and personally going to my grandma's funeral is far more important and I will be there.

Thing is what do I say to the lady? I can imagine she will think I am wasting her time but I truely am not I am/was looking forward to going to see her horse, I can go at end of month now but that's still 3/4wks away and I am sure she won't just keep hold of him for me....considering I have to cancel once again :( :(

How could I explain all this to her?..... I am NOT a timewaster I am on the search for a horse and to bring one home as soon as possible too as I can't wait to get going away I have a brand new hat and some more bits and peices ready and waiting!!

My husband says that if it's meant to be it will, but if not will have to keep looking, he knows how upset I am about all this, cos he wants to see me happy once again.

Arghhh everything is happening to me this month...one thing after another lol :(

Poor you. What a month you're having.

If it were me, I'd just give her a call and tell her the truth about what's happened. If she takes umbridge at you needing to cancel again, then so be it, but hopefully she'll be understanding. You'd have to sink pretty low to make up a story that your Gran had died just to postpone a visit to view her horse.

Fingers are crossed for you. :)

Yes not having a great time at present...

I was going to call her later this evening to explain things to her and hope that she is understanding but if it's not to be it's not to be.... sure there will be others out there wanting a very loving home :)

Yes of course there is :) And your next horse is out there somewhere. Just waiting for you to find him/her. If it's not meant to be this particular one, it'll be for a good reason.

I think as long as you give the lady as much notice as possible that you cannot make this weekend's visit, she shouldn't be too put out. At least you take the time to inform her in advance that you cannot make the viewing.

MerlyWerly, that's so sad. Hope your Gran is resting in peace, and that the funeral is a wonderful celebration and goodbye 80)

You can't control what the seller will think, but being honest and being prompt (i.e. informing her ASAP) are all you can do as an honest buyer. No, you can't expect her to hold the horse for you, but at the same time no one else might view or buy the horse in the meantime. You can't miss what you never had, so if things don't work out then it's because they're not meant to be and the right horse is out there. Given that it's a 'buyers market' however he could well he waiting on just you to come, fall in love and snap him up once you're able to go 80)

Thanks sadly I am loaning at 1st with possibility of buying later on, but like you say if it's not meant to be then I have to face that.... others will come along maybe the extreamly lovely one from here maybe :D :D :D :D :D :D :D

When I went to view the mare I wanted to buy everything kicked off. First my grandad died to I had to travel to Ireland for the funeral so I had to cancel the viewing. Then I went to see said mare and agreed to go the next Saturday. Well my current horse at the time was put to sleep the Saturday morning so I had to cancel again.
Luckily the owner was very understanding and I went tried the horse and bought her :)
I agree with your hubby, if its meant to be then it will happen. All you can do is explain the situation to the horses owner and see what happens.
I am also very sorry to hear about your gran :(

I am waiting a reply as no answer on phone so emailed.

Just apologised lots and yes I would still like to view if he's available at end of month so I guess it's just a wait and see really.
