dont leave horse alone in trailer

the point of my post is that this horse had been left all morning becoming increasingly distressed before jumping ovet the partition.yes accidents happen but this was an accident waiting to happen.it always amazes me how selfish people can always defend themselves.our horse is brilliant in a trailer but i wouldnt expect her to stand in there all morning.

Headless_Horsewoman..for what reason would you not consider a moniter? not baiting you, just wondered.

Because my horse isn't a baby but an animal which is designed to be able to cope away from constant human supervision. And if you worry that much about your horse you are not going to be the calm, confident leader your horse will react best to. I would put it in the same category as swinging crystals around your horse's head and those sorts of things. Sorry!

No sensible person would leave their horse unattended in a trailer for a whole morning. I wouldn't even leave one attended in a trailer that long, I would hire a stable or get her out and walk her about. Poor horse in the accident probably needed a pee and was trying to get out!

Surely a horse has more scope to injure itself when inside a trailer than tied up to the outside. I realise a loose horse could escape onto the road, but usually they stay or are caught within the showground. They are just as likely to stray when loose after a fall whllst competing surely. I prefer to tie mine to the trailer if I can see them. If I can't I put them onboard.

Ha ha.. i don't think a baby moniter has anything to do with crystal swinging, LOL, that sounds dangerous. I have a mentle picture of a chandelier in your horsebox. PMSL.

QR - If you didn't leave your horse alone in a box/trailer, howon earth do you travel anywhere?? Surely leaving them alone on the trailer at an event, is the same as travelling them alone??
