Where is the best place to look for a field/field share? I only need space for one although have someone standing by wanting to share if we can find anything that will allow us to. I've put an ad out on the local horsey website, thought i'd pop in to my old riding school to see if they know of anything and have friends keeping their ears and eyes open but not much luck so far! Where else is there to look/ask? I need something in the Christchurch Bransgore area preferably but where/how do I find out if there's anything going? Thanks

I would keep putting up the ads local tack shops etc. and also post one in Freeads. I would also make up a few flyers and have a drive around. I often see lone horses in huge fields and feel very sad for them. If it is obvious what house the field belongs to I would put a flyer in their post box. If not, I would pin one to the gate. You never know, they may be pleased to find a companion for their lonely horse.

I did think of driving around and sticking notes on gates but thought it might be a bit cheeky. However now if anyone complains i can tell them wagtail made me do it :p Will do Freeads right now. Thanks for the suggestions :)

Good idea. Everyone hates me anyway so they'll just sympathize. :D

Good luck!

Have you looked in your local agricultural merchants/auction/NFU office/estate agents and so on? Don't just look in horsey places, think outside the box of who could have/own land available, even the council might have something.

As this will be your first horse you could try and find a friendly /helpful livery yard which has facilities to use.
Contact local PC/RC they will often know of good yards or a private person looking for a field sharer.
Following on from your other post re. finding a horse be prepared to try several and dont rush into it,I know how difficult it is to find the right horse ,it will be out there .
Good luck with your search.:)

I'm not after a great deal, she's only a happy hacker and I’m not looking to do anything much more with her, I’ve currently got a share horse too so not going in completely clueless although it is still scary! :o
Riding club will be visited today, fingers crossed for that!
Definitely won't rush don't worry! I wasn't actually planning to look for a horse for another year but she came up and seems ideal so worth a look but if she's not right she's not right. But if she is, I need somewhere to put her! Thank you for the luck certainly need it! :)
