Why not try it and if you find she's sweating up have a re-think. Like others have said, if she was coming in at some point then she would have chance to dry off. Mine has lived in his Rhinegold fly sheet with waterproof strip, but he does come in during the day at the moment. My gelding has very broad shoulders and the Rhinegold was relatively inexpensive and fits a treat.

if she is trying to find shelter along hedges then I would rug her, if she is in the middle of the field, bum to the wind eating I would leave her naked. I have a 26 year old 3/4 TB who lives out all year round unrugged and she grazes out in the middle of the field in all weathers while my Sect D cob hides under the trees if there is so much as a light shower.

I left naked. It’s a hard one as a rain sheet will leak after heavy all day rain and it’s too warm for a medium weight. But have extra hay for forage
