Don't think my horse is coming to the wedding!

My boyf asked me to marry him last week (hurrah

) but when he asked me he added that it was only on the promise that I didn't arrange to ride Sam to the church! Somehow I don't think my attempts to get him more horsey are working

Personally I think it would be pretty cool to have a white wedding dress on my black horse - although I would spend the rest of the day covered in horse hair!

Maybe when your OH works out cost of hiring limo compared with use of horsey you might be able to persuade him to accept Sam's attendance too

Congratulations!
You would be mad not to ride you're horse to the wedding!!!
Have you not made it clear you and you're horse come as a package??!!

Unfortunately he thinks all forms of trap / carriage are big horrible monsters that will eat him alive unless he buggers off quick in the other direction. So not sure if it would work!

I did point out that once we are married Sam becomes "our" horse and not "my" horse so he has to stop calling him dobbin! Also asked if I could give up work once we are married and spend my days doing lunch and hanging out at the stables but I can't really print his answer

Fortunatley both my parents were horsey and they both rode their horses to their wedding... the photos were lovely. I plan to ride my horse to my wedding!

Congratulations!!!!

If I ever get married my boy is going to be guest of honour. Probably wont ride unless I can learn side saddle but he will def be there posing for pictures!!!

I'd love to ride my horse to my wedding in October. But it's at Cambridge Registry office and I can't see myself taking him through Cambridge on a Saturday! lol
If I could, i most definately would!!!

i would love to ride my boy to our wedding...unfortunatly i cant see myself riding a prat of a dales or trying to get on a 17 2 hh hanvoarien in heels and a dress!!!

interesting thought...

i would make it known...love me love my horse!!

My horse came to my wedding! We had our pre dinner drinks in an orchard and he was there for the whole time and the photos. I didn't ride him because he's a bit of a mummies boy and I didn't trust him without me holding him. You so don't want a didaster on your wedding day! His face in our photos is so funny! He's like "what ARE you wearing?!

My friend/YM is getting married in September and although she owns several horses herself, none of them are suitable, so she is riding my (white) horse to the church! I'll be leading him. There will be photos!

Congratulations, i you can it would be lovely to have him at your wedding, if not can you arrange for the photographer to do a photo shoot at a time other than the day in your dress, i think thats what im going to have to settle for..

Congratulations - my OH was the opposite - he insisted that Cairo came - He rode Cairo and I rode Jemima, Cairo was Best Horse and Jemima, Mare of Honour. Having them there made our day.

Trying to get the horsebox repaired and arrange a venue that the horses could come to and stay the night within 4 months was a bit of a task but I did it.

We had minty cubes on the tables and everyone who came fed them treats - they had the time of their lives.

I'm obviously very strange because the great attraction of my wedding was one whole day without having to do anything for either of our horses. Much as we loved both of them it was heaven!

I sort of cheated, got them ready the day before and two really good friends drove them over in the box and groomed for me - though I was poking my nose in until I had to go and get changed. They then took then back to the stables they were staying in and fed them etc - I had my horses there without having to do anything apart from ride and enjoy them.

Congratulations....
My mare came to our wedding, she looked wonderful!! she was all plaited up etc and a girl from the yard put all her show gear on so they looked really posh and rode her to the church, everyone was amazed when they turned up only thing was she was abit scared of me she couldnt work out who was that in the dress with the very scary thing on her head(veil) she did try to eat my boquet though, it really made my day.

I didn't know our horses were coming to our wedding - went to the yard and turned them out first thing in the morning and I now know as I left the YO was rushing out to get them in before they rolled! I thought it was a bit funny the route the car went to take us to the church (so we didn't pass them being hacked there). When we came out of the church there they were! Lovely - they didn't make it to the reception but it was lovely to get some photos with them!

Good luck - I'm sure you'll talk him round!

A friend had medieval wedding last year and made her horse a knight's charger costume to have photos done - it was stunning. She was going to ride him but he went lame 6 weeks before, but it made the day. She was more concerned about getting him there than her fiancee, lol.
It made for an interesting time trying to contol a horse that had been on box rest, in the middle of a castle while he pranced around ruining the grass - the staff were panicking he would damage something! What? A horse in a castle - never! Plus he's a jumping demon and the castle is right next to David Broom's place, which just happened to have a hunter trials on that day - oops!

I'm getting married 2nd May next year and despite lots of persuasion my OH will not let my horses attend! but I especially chose the venue for the reception so that I can have a horse and carriage. I have just booked 2 gorgeous fresians to take us there in style

I am still thinking of asking a friend to get the girls all smartened up so that they can be on the pictures we have taken at home before we head off.
