Carries on creakily
We checked the forecast to try and pick good weather for yesterday's visit to the National Trust's 1400 acre Lyme Park, near Manchester. Yes, we were promised sun all day. But being British, we did of course pack our waterproofs ?.
The views from the high point at The Cage are incredible, but look at those skies...
I think that the dog had spotted a deer in the distance.
A little later on, and thankfully after we had dropped some height and gained some shelter, we got caught up in a hailstorm. Poor dog is under a makeshift shelter of a stone wall and the rucksacks. Bless her, she hates hail, and there was some thunder and lightning too , but she kept pretty calm, considering. We'd never have gone out if thunder had been forecast.
Then it alternated between sun and showers.
Not too many photos as my phone was in danger of getting waterlogged, but we still had a good, albeit rather damp, day. About six miles covered, over varied terrain.
Once we got home, we had to spread everything out to dry!
