he must be taking the pi** out of her. We have been told by at least 3 people that know her that she does it with all her horses a friend of hers has taken two off her hand one that she said " could not jump " he came of a yard of showjumpers and could jump and is now giving new owners lots of fun. It just makes me so mad that a really nice horse is now going to be sold if i could i would buy him but cant.

Sorry rant over.

I know what you mean.. There is a woman that I am ware of localy, who buys perfectly goods horses ( but soo wrong for her).

Has them for a while, totaly ruins them and then sells them on, as if it the horse that is the problem, urrgghhhh

i know what u mean. i sold my first pony which is always the hardest and i rang the owner 5 months later.( i rang just after he moved to see how he had settled.) i was told they had sold him a few months prior but failed to tell me, if you want first refusals back on your horse get in writting coz words dont seem to be enough. well i dont have a clue where he is and his new owner hasnt changed his ownership in his passport for over a year which gets me abit worried.

I had the same problem sold a horse who was a lovely horse never put a foot wrong with me sold her and the person who bought her said she was terrible at almost every thing.
Went on to sell not long after buying found out it was not the first time surely not ever horse is terrible feel so bad for horse and often wonder what if

How ironic you're talking about this subject tonight!!

3 years ago my friend sold both of her horses to a family (she was having a bad pregnancy). 8 months later, total coincidence, I get a phone call from the new family asking for lessons (I teach). When I arrive, it turns out they had sold one of them on. She was an older mare (about 20), could be a little stroppy, and apparently had just been a nightmare and didn't settle, so after a few months they found her a home with an older lady who wanted just to hack till the end of her days. Home for life. My friend was very upset when I told her, but you know it's just one of those things.

Last night, I just happened to be looking at horses for sale and found her!! My friend calls this morning. The mares original passport is long gone. The current owners passport starts at a riding school, then she was sold onto a "natural horsemanship lady", who they bought her off. My friend went to see her today. It turns out that the mare was basically a skeleton when these current people bought her earlier in the year. She is covered in scars all over her belly and has mental traumas, particularly over water. They were sold her as a 13 yr old!!!!! The "Natural Horsemanship Lady" apparently has since been prosecuted for cruelty since, although not linked to this mare as far as I'm aware.....

The new owner has a bad illness and has to sell her. My friend is now in the process of buying her back and she will live in a field for the rest of her days. I can't believe it. It's probably the worst thing you can imagine. Thank goodness we found her.

Thank goodness you found her, a similar thing happened to my by.

I was given him due to his problems, got him right and around 10 yrs later put him on loan.

Tha was a nightmare, I only foind out where he was one the loan home was inflicted with quite serious injuries.

He is now back home, and after a battle ,again, with his behavoir, and massive weight loss due mainly to stress, his behavoir is nearly 90o/o and the weight gain seems to be going in the right drection.

This was the first, and last time I will ever let one of my horses out of my sight

I didnt intentionally keep in touch with my horse of a lifetime who I had to sell - I saw his results on the BE website

Glad to see that he is still having at least one stop at Novice XC every time, and is booting out 2-3 show jumps each time at Pre-novice

I have been lucky that I have kept in touch with the new owners of two of mine that I had to sell in tragic circumstances last year. I regretted selling the mare that I loved dearly even though she went to a lovely person. Very luckily, I have managed to buy her back. The other horse is also at a lovely new home and we keep in touch regularly. I have been lucky - not every story has such a happy ending.

All of the horses that have been sold are still with there owners

when C sells them she askes if the new owners want to come a good few times and do different things with them plus come and see them compete just to make sure the horse and rider are right for eachother.
The said above owner did all this with him, however he came back for holiday livery and C said he was a different horse

however after a few days he was back to his old self

u could of put ur gran on him.

sometimes, unfortunatley a horse becomes not right for someone when perfectly fine where he was before. there isn't always an answer for it...

I have some very good friends I have made from buying horses from them. I have also sold two and they are now friends too. I know I have been lucky tho. I sold one and bought her back but was written in to sale i had first refusal.
