Happyhack.......the downside to having your own website besides posting adverts.....its amazing how many of these stupid emails are sent!! And to think some sad arse is sitting at the other end of a computer thinking up this rubbish and clicking on "send".....

E-mail them back and tell them that you would love to proceed, but unfortunately, due to banking problems, they will have to deposit the full amount, and an extra 20 k in your cousins account in Nigeria.... YOu will then re-fund the extra 20k.

Someone I knew got one of these and we emailed back saying we had a 23hh unhandleable stallion which bucks, rears, bolts and sits on people. We were asking £2million for it if he was interested, no tack or rugs of course.

There were about 6 emails backwards and forwards from him 'wanting to make deal' and send the money. HOW F******G THICK?!?!?!?!?!

Crazy isn't it? I 'sold' a three legged, 12h son of Shergar to one of these numpties!

I had fun with them, but mostly I used to just delete straight away. Surely no-one has ever fallen for one of these scams.

LOL a 12hh son of Shergar........excellent.....

Well all I can say is that if someone has fallen for one of these, then they need flogged in the middle of the street with a wet fish and a sign on their back saying kick me if you think I am stupid.....

Amazingly, there are people taken in by these scams. Someone at the yard told me the other day, how her son had managed to sell his car to someone in Nigeria, who bizarrely had sent an extra £5k, which he had to give them, but he got the £400 for his car. I tried to explain that it was a scam, and she said, "no the money is in his account this morning" I persisted and explained that it would reject the following day by which time it was too late.

Told her to go to the police, and to stop her son from getting the money out. Haven't seen her since, so don't know what happened, but I know her son is only 18, working at Pizza Hut while he gets ready for Uni, and not at all in a position to lose that kind of money. I couldn't believe that they were that naive.

Some potential owners once asked how much it would be to park their horse at the livery yard. I sincerely hope they never bought one.
