Eighteen months after welcoming Deutsche Eiche (Dorle) into our lives, we are very proud of introduce Briarwood Remembrance. Tilly was born at 9pm last night and is the first embryo transfer foal from Dorle (Donnerhall x Pik Bube), who at 21 years old is far too irresponsible to look after her own children! Dorle came from Scotland in late 2009 and soon made it clear she wasn't content to grow old gracefully
We have named Tilly after my inspirational Uncle Bill who sadly passed away on Saturday.
Tilly is by the dressage stallion Keystone Rivallino and therefore has the same sire as my beloved Rosie, born in March. Tilly was very ably carried by Flirty, and is already running rings round her poor surrogate mother. Im sure Flirty is wondering why this foal is so much naughtier than her previous two!
Tilly is more than we could have ever hoped for and all being well, she will be joined by another sibling in June, carried by the lovely Mary B (May).
Ive been having a pretty rough time recently and I cant express how much joy this little foal has brought.
