My instructor wants me to get a double bridle for schooling the boy in but I have never used or purchased one before.

I found this one on the internet

Does anyone think it is any good? Just looks a bit cheap compared to the others i've been looking at!

Also - what bits do I need to get to go on it?

Thanks in advance for your help x

If you haven't used two reins before then I highly recommend you just get a pelham first and ride with that on two reins before you even think about riding with a real double bridle with two bits.

thanks but doubt i'll be riding with it yet - my boy has alot to learn and my instructor wants to use it on the days that he schools him - not for my lessons!!

Then rather than just buying a new bridle I would just buy a slip head & another pair of reins!! Would of thought they would of had one to put on when they want to school in it.

I honestly wouldnt go about buying one jut like that. You are just starting out in dressage and as you say mouse has a long way to go. Trainer should be well able to work him properly in a simple snaffle without need for the curb. Well certainly not until hes up to novie level at least.

However, if you are going to buy one you may as well get one youd be able to compete in and that wuld hopefully fit a 14.2hh pony or when yu move up. Same bridle may fit both as castle appears to have a large enought head. I had a loevly pony one from Berneys. I had a loan of one for about 6mths from an old lady who doesnt use hers, for about a year first, then purchased my own.
