I am now totally confused, as thought I held them correctly then someone else has told me I have in fact got it wrong!

so if this right (there is a crossover, excuse martingale stops)

Personally,, I have my little finger between the two reins - not on the outside of the curb one. Then if you need to "ask" you can just tweak your little finger. Perhaps I'm old fashioned!

It is complete personal preference - no *right* or *wrong* way per se - so crossover if you want, or don't :D

Ah ok!!! because I always ride Pickle like this, but when I ride somewhere else they don't likt it. SO basically its pure preference!

There are several ways to hold them - there is a good site which shows this graphically, may be sustainable dressage - but yes, I hold them like that with the snaffle in my normal snaffle hold, and the curb one finger above.

Yes if that is how you like to ride that is fine!

I prefer not to cross, only coz when I change the rein, if I change my whip/cane over then I get all fumbled....

Iv tried riding both crossed and straight and I find striaght MUCH easier, but my friend rides crossed as she cant get straight sorted.

Its entirely what you are comfortable with :)

There should be cross over I think because that way you are riding mostly from the snaffle.

I would also have one rein in the 'normal' place and one outside the little finger.

Agree the bottom rein should be inside your top rein.
